GIAL Go Their Separate Ways
@ Scene news channel

The Danish team GIAL confirmed that they would be folding today. The decision comes after having to make roster changes losing both Casper "krogh" Krogh and Dennis “vnG” Vang. Since then, according to a statement made by Marc 'lokke' Halgreen, the team has struggled to find its way and the new team hasn’t gelled despite impressive individual performances from their replacements.

The statement was as follows:

This can be described in few words: A sad sad day. This is the day we hoped we never had to face. Our journey started back in '08 around July with us forming a new team. We started off with TeX in Roskilde, Denmark with our roads taking us over England, Sweden, and of course a few events in Denmark.

This has been the most talented and best team I've ever played in, and we managed to hold a stable lineup for over half a year. After New Years Eve we had to let krogh and vnG go, and we never got our game flowing after their departure. This has nothing to do with our two latest additions, kev1n and Rytter, where especially kev1n has showed, that his AWP'ing is one of the very best in Europe.

I would also like to thank the GIAL-management, including dawies, Sui_Generis and of course our team manager Hartmann. They've all done an amazing job this last year and we owe them everything. I am very sad that this will be the end for us, especially with all the initiatives they've got going.

Unfortunately, this of course also means that we will not be attending LAN79. We will, however, finish what we started. Therefore, we will keep playing in EuroCup until the cup is over.

I have no real overview of what people are going to do now, but I'd like to wish everyone the very best of luck. This has been the funniest and most rewarding months in my gaming career.

GIAL were:

Marc 'lokke' Halgreen
Kevin ‘kev1n’ Hansen
Dennis ‘Rytter’ Rytter
Morten ‘frozt’ Pedersen
Thorkil ‘tabztar’ Burup
