We don't often toot our own horn, but we feel that when we get the opportunity to set a good example we have the duty to do so.
Over the last three days the £6,000 prize payments from the Alienware Area-51 Pro Challenge cleared into the accounts of Team Verygames, Crack Clan and Team Coolermaster.
These payments went out exactly a week after the event, and we feel strongly that all event organisers should work towards a point where they too can pay out promptly, not making teams wait weeks, months, even years.
Heaven Media's Adam Godfrey had this to say on the matter:Prize delays hurt organisations, they hurt players, and they hurt the competitive gaming scene.
We don't support punishing events that refuse to pay out prizes promptly, but we do urge them to work towards that goal, to help grow the esports community.
We have set an example in how prize payments can be organised, and we challenge other companies to meet our expectations.
