Week 8 saw not all too many interesting matches, even though we witnessed the first white washes of the season with TBH.MSI and RAPTOR-GAMING. winning their games with 16:00 and 16:03 respectively, throughout the season it has been difficult to find such clear numbers in the matches and might indicate that some of the currently lower ranked teams have started giving up on their dreams and expectations they had made for themselves prior to the start of the season.
Not only will there be some interesting matches on display for the coming week, it will be a busy week for all teams involved with both weeks in rapid succession of one another and thus I have opted to create the double week coverage with week 9 and 10 included in this week's Cadred coverage of the EPS Germany.
On another note, there is one match that has been moved up from Week 8, that still needs playing
This match is of great significence as both teams will face an easy target during Week 8 and this direct confrontation will prove to be intersting as the winning individual will breach an important 3 point break with these two rumoured shoe-ins for the top 4 spots.
With the first matches all being those of mid tier ranked teams against those ranked below them, not all too many surprising results should be anticipated here and it remains to be seen whether or not any of them have what it takes to make a surprising turn of events and pick up three points where they were supposed to receive none.
Both of the really interesting matches of Week 9 will be featured on Thursday at the same time and out of those two matches, choZen versus RAPTOR-GAMING. should prove to be the most entertaining one as choZen is currently sitting at number one, even though that is likely to change by the time this match is played as TBH.MSI squars off with the current leaders tomorrow as part of Week 10, and RAPTOR-GAMING. are featured in the top 5 as well. Important points could be won or lost here with the end of the regular season coming closer and closer, it's up to those respective teams to make their own luck.
Without a shadow of a doubt, the match of Week 10 will be the immensely anticipated match-up between choZen and TBH.MSI, the current number one and two respectively and generally seen as the best two teams within Germany from the outside perspective. With TBH.MSI trailing a mere two points at this moment in time, a win here would put them over the top again and almost guarantee them a first spot into the play-offs unless they were to have another unexpected result in the weeks after.
choZen on the other hand have the possibility to increase their lead from two to five points and thus create an almost insurmountable lead with the amount of matches left towards the play-offs. Today, however, the set map choice of the EPS does play into THB.MSI's favour as mp_crash can be considered as their home map and previous encounters have come out positively for the recent HR LAN #2 winners. I asked a representative out of both camps about their thoughts of this oncoming battle and what they were expecting:
Robert "smithz" Krivka had the following to say:"Today we will be facing one of Germany's finest, "Team choZen". The Map will be mp_crash which we managed to win in the last official wars vs them quite easily (13:4 / 13:10). This time it's maxrounds 15 so it probably will be ways harder to win cause we dont have many different tactics. We hope to adapt well to their playstyle and make them play the way we want to play. I wish Lynx and his boys the best of luck today, as well as in finding a new organisation."Roman "spow" Stolz had this to say about the match:
" The most important match for both teams during the regular season is coming up. It's really hard to say which team will win, because both line-ups are playing at the same level and have great individual players on their sides. Crash is a map with advantages for TBH, but on the other site we are placed above them in the actual EPS rankinglist. So this match won't have a favourite in my opinion and everything can happen. I would not be surprised if one of the teams going straight for the win and roll over its opponent, but of course everyone is expecting a very close match and if we take a look back on our last matches against each other, this would be the most likely result, a close match..."
The other matches seem to be of a much more close nature than those of Week 9 and with a double feature this week, it might prove to be too much of pressure on their shoulders, creating a viable situation for upsets to occur, something the audience always craves for. This week should thus prove to have more than enough exciting matches and possible switches in the ranking table.
