ESEA Open Weeks 2.1 + 2.2
@ ESEA channel

The ESEA Open League moves on to the second week of the regular season.

The first two days of the European ESEA Open League have been played and there's no doubt now that this has the potential to be one of the most exciting online competition for Counter-Strike: Source.

Unfortunately though, the first big name has already left the competition. This is of course Crack Clan, who after the upsettings in their lineup, forfeited their matches in the second day of the first week and both their games this week.

In the last two sets of fixtures we've seen some surprising results, such as the victory of 30P Gaming in the first Swedish derby against the new H2k team, formerly known as BooYa. The first Match of the Week, uberG33KZ versus Reason Gaming, saw the Eastern European team winning and taking their first three points with a score of 16-12.

Next up the H2k faced the struggling Danish side fnatic: the match ended at the overtime 21-19 in favour of the Swedes. The next Match of the Week saw Finnish team zOo triumph in a close game (16-14 the final score) against Reason Gaming, who have had to face two of the strongest teams early on in the competition. The Danish team ROCCAT leads the ranking with three wins and a score difference of +36 but they haven't played against any top team yet and were lucky enough to receive a default for their match against Crack Clan. Japanesebirdcooking, team zOo and another five teams follow in the table with 2 wins and no losses, while fnatic and Double-Trouble close the top 10 with the same wins and one defeat (they've already played their third match).

Reason Gaming, uberG33KZ and H2k stand in the middle of the rankings with a victory and a loss.

Looking at the individual stats, Lewis "Hughsy" Hughes leads the player rankings with the highest Average Frags per Round, 1.333, followed by Serumm of afterlife, 1.152.

The fnatic duo VH and Krogh got the highest number of frags, 67 and 66 respectively, but they've already played the first match of the second week, so a special mention goes to JESUTSQ of Team Celsus, who was able to get 62 frags despite his team losing both of their two matches played so far.

In this second week of the European ESEA Open league we have only one "big" match to watch, since Crack Clan versus ROCCAT has been defaulted.

The Swedish team is one of the newest in the competition and they will want to prove that the Swedish CS:S scene is still one the best in Europe.

In the first week they had a relatively easy route, having faced the German iNEXOR and the Norwegian team Epsilon, two matches they won 16-0 and 16-14 respectively.

On the contrary, Reason Gaming have been very unlucky so far: this is the third time they feature in the "Match of the Week" series, having been in the spotlight in the first week for their matches against the Danish team uber G33KZ and the Finnish side zOo.

As we already said, they won 16-12 against the Danish, but they didn't manage to beat zOo, losing 14-16. They're now in the 15th position, so they can't afford to lose more points on their way this season.
