With the fifth week of the ESEA Open league coming, we pass the half-way mark of the group stage.
Looking back at the fourth week, we immediately notice two things: firstly, there are ten games still to be played; secondly, there are eleven matches forfeited, and that's a shame because the league was getting very interesting and those defaults ruin the competition.
Luckily, the top teams play all their matches, with the exception of course of Crack Clan. In the last Match of the Week the Finnish team zOo overcame the Danish side MoD with the score of 16-4, however the biggest surprise of the week has been the loss of fnatic against the English team Dreamzone, who then went on to lose 2-16 in the second set of matches against another Danish team, DSRack.
Other interesting matches saw the above mentioned team MoD winning in overtime against the GRUPPEN (former japanesebirdcooking, featuring osvaR and pokke with other Swedish players) and the first matches of anoxia against big opponents such as zOo and ROCCAT, both ended with the victory of the latters.
ROCCAT are still undefeated and lead the ranking with eight wins, followed by Reason Gaming and zOo, both with only one loss. DSRack have the chance to reach them since they are yet to play their eighth round match against GRUPPEN. H2k, fnatic and Epsilon all have 2 defeats, although fnatic and Epsilonare yet to play last week's match. After the defeat against zOo, MoD are now in 8th position with a 5-3-0 record, the same as anoxia.

It seems the Scandinavian teams were the most active last week as in the best fragger standings of de_train 23 players in the first 25 positions come from Finland, Norway, Denmark or Sweden, with
Bo "wantz" Vestergaard (MoD) and Joel "wayNe" Kentander (H2k) leading (49 frags).
Soren "socn" Falke and Mark "LESMARK" Lesmark from Team Unity (hits 4 kids) are on the top of the overall frags standings with 174 and 171 frags respectively, Sami "SAMITSKY" Kuivala follows with 170.
Vaino "SeRuMM" Korkka leads the FPR (average Frags Per Round) standings with 0.986, but he hasn't played yet any of the last week's matches, so while we wait for his games, the crown goes this week to Vincent "EMSTQD" Cervoni from Dreamaker (0.972), followed by
Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovacs (0.957) and Tom "tomHJH" Horth from anoxia (0.955).

This is probably one of the most exciting week we have seen during the ESEA Open league, with about four matches worth watching.
However the Match of the Week is without a doubt ROCCAT versus Reason Gaming, the first team in the standings against the second.
So far, ROCCAT have only played one match against a big opponents, and that was the match against zOo where they won 16-13. On the other hand, Reason have played several strong opponents such as MoD, H2k, japanesebirdcooking (before its folding of course) and DSRack, but the only defeat came against zOo in the first week of the competition, with the score of 14-16.
If ROCCAT win they will probably end the group stage without loss, while in case of a Reason victory the Danish team will share the first place with them and zOo.
