UKeSA: horny(z) for an interview
@ UKeSA Season 1 CoD4 channel

hornyz from EnRo Griffins is the next person in the Interview room

With the "make up room" being converted into the interview room, I managed to grab hold of one of the Germans before they disappeared off. They had just won the Alienware cup beating Celsus, and their opponents Quad didn't turn up for the Championship final so they got a default win for that.

We talked about how EnRo did at the event, as well as talking about the future of EnRo and the German CoD4 scene as a whole

Welcome hornyz. You have flown all the way over from Germany to be at this event, but what do you think of it?

I thought it was a great chance for us to attend our first offline event in the UK. We were really looking forward to it. It was a pleasure to meet all the well known and top teams in the UK like dignitas, ButtonBashers and TCM. We are a bit disappointed from the location. We expected it to be a bit bigger as it was announced, it should have been the big exhibition, but it failed. The PCs were ok but they weren't perfect.

Obviously you won the game against Celsus, but how do you think you performed as a team? Were you playing to your best possible standard?

It was some kind of random gaming for us, we did not have time to prepare. We took some time to get into the game then we started playing our regular gaming style, and we showed that our online performances were the same as our offline performance.

Is this the main reason why you chose to come out here and play in the tournament? Did you want to prove to the rest of Europe that you aren't just "onliners"?

Yeah, that's for sure, also for the prize money. It was announced that the finals were going to be offline, and we knew it from the start, and we took the chance to win the money, and we won it.

Do you think other teams are going to view you differently now that they have seen you perform online?

Definitely, and especially as we're attending OOF next month and that's where the rest of the teams are. We have got to know the other teams, and everybody was watching jetlag, and he was set to be the number 1 onliner, but he really performed well. He did a knife ace in the first round and he shot so many players through the walls, and he did very well.

How do you think you will perform at OOF when you attend? You will have to play the "big" teams unlike this event.

We are in the EPS finals so we are at least in Germany the top 1 or top 2, and we have already beaten a lot of the top teams online, so I think we are going to repeat that offline as well.

What is the lowest position at OOF that you would be "happy" with as such?

We would be happy with top 4, and anything under that we would feel a bit disappointed. We are in the top events at the moment, EMS, the top 8 teams left, Infused Cup, CM Storm Cup (in the LB final), and EPS (final).

How do you view the EPS in Germany as a whole? Obviously the UK have it as well, but do you think it is beneficial to the German CoD4 scene?

It is definitely helping the game a lot. You have seen that a lot of German teams have received a real skill boost as they have trained a lot. Like TBH is training a lot and is beating every foreign team. It is going to be a very hard match in the EPS DE final, and I will leave the result open. We know they are really strong, but if we fight hard in the first rounds we could beat them.

What about EnRo themselves? Are you going to remain at that organisation with your current lineup?

EnRo is going to be more bigger, they are in contact with new sponsors, and also with new teams. Our team itself will change a bit. We have one lineup change, Plotsch will be replaced by another player. There are two players in discussion but no decision has been made so far. Plotsch is a perfect player but he has to do his military service as all Germans do.

What about MM2? Do you think the CoD scene will move over to that game?

It is a very hard question to answer, but I hope that MW2 is an addon for CoD4, and that there are no huge changes, that would be perfect for the game and the community.

Thanks for the interview, but before I let you head off to celebrate in London, do you have any final shoutouts you would like to make?

I want to give shoutouts to our management, Stucan, Ganni and especially sanji who made it possible for us to come London and also the rest of our team, and our fan boys <3.
