Dignitas beat ButtonBashers over 3 maps, in an epic game

The first of the semi finals took place, only 3 hours behind time. The encounter that a lot of people were saying was going to be the worse of the two games. Though we haven't seen the 2nd game, this was a very close game.

Dignitas were able to beat ButtonBashers over 3 maps, giving all the dignitas fans a bit of a scare after a terrible 2nd map performance on Crash where they let BB back in the game. However, they were able to pull it together on defense on Strike and take the match.

The style of game was definitely not one of the best games, nor was it the quickest. With comments of "boring" coming from the crowd, and "please no overtime!", it definitely won't be a game to rewatch on the VODs.

ButtonBashers started the game badly, with dignitas pushing easily on attack on Crossfire and managing to get the bomb down without any problem. The only problem they had was raz complaining about his PC. "I can't push, smoke f** my game up" commented raz. "He knows I get low FPS the wang c*".

What didn't help was hysobe, the scope on crossfire. He was only able to manage a huge 7 frags in the whole game, where as his opposite number SoCLoN was able to get well into the 20s. You could tell BB were missing nreo and qwerty on the scope.

Though dignitas won the half 8-4, it looked like BB were going to be able to pull it back. With a sick 4 man from L-King (Germaine had just predicted it before hand and all the other crowd laughed at the idea), they were able to get the game level again. But dignitas were able to get the last few rounds and were able to win out, winning 13-9.

This didn't look good for ButtonBashers, but we were all pleasantly suprised when BB started winning the first few rounds. qwerty was back on the sniper and doing really well, getting the shots. "Dignitas were running around like headless chickens" commented ReDeYe after the game. And they were. They were just not able to get a grasp on the game.

ButtonBashers were really getting fired up as well, unlike dignitas. Every single round they were going crazy when won. "They're already getting depressed!" screamed qwerty. He also added at the end of the half "Come on guys. Every rounds importatnt even though we have a good lead." Not quoting the obvious at all there.

So we went to a 3rd map, much to Reason and TCMs annoyance. Strike was a map that usually suited the dignitas play style, but this time they couldn't get their attack right. LoOkZoR was having an absolute mare, and not getting any frags. dignitas did get a big few rounds at the end to make the half 7-5 to BB. BB definitely looked like they had the momentum, but dignitas suddenly found their 3rd gear and just rolled over BB. mick and mark were really destroying the BB attack, especially mark in the mid shops. It got very close in one round with Jason winning the round with literally half a second as davy moved in for the final kill.

At last dignitas got the last few rounds and ended the game. It started off well, with some humour going between the two sets of team in good fashion. Dignitas are through to the finals, but they don't look particularly impressed with it all. It is now Reason vs TCM time! Let's hope that is over a bit quicker.
