Duffer is the next person to take a walk into the Dressing Room

Duffer and ButtonBashers have just come off a loss to Team Dignitas in the semi finals. After the game I managed to sit down with Duffer and speak about the game, the event, and also I had to bring up his team history.

Welcome Duffer. You have just come away from a close loss with dig. Are you disappointed with the result?

Not that disappointed considering we've only practiced for like 2 days with this lineup, we could have beaten them on Strike, we just played some rounds really slow and lost some unlucky rounds.

How did you think you would do before the game especially on Crossfire the first map.

We thought we could of beaten them on Crossfire, even though it was not one of our strongest maps, but they won a lot of 4v2s against us. I think they just had a bit more practice than us.

You talk about how you had to bring in a merc, hysobe instead of nreo. Did it make a big difference having him in instead of nreo?

Not really, jamie is a good player, but nreo is probably one of the best players in the game and to fill his shoes in such short notice is a big big thing to do. When EPS comes we will definitely beat dig with nreo.

Why did you choose hysobe over JUSZN who most people thought you were going to take originally?

A lot of the team didn't like JUSZN and we all thought he played really bad at i36 and his LAN performance wasn't as good as his online perforance.

Do you think you can still come 3rd? Who would you rather play out of TCM and Reason?

Yeah definitely, but we would rather play Reason, I just like playing against Diablo.

What do you think of the UKeSA Grand Finals as a whole?

I think its better than i-series, I don't know why. I thinks its because I haven't been waiting around all day, I think its pretty decent at such short notice, as the last venue got changed.

Now I have to bring up the discussion about all of the organisations you have been through. Do you regret messing up the Crack deal and do you think you asked too much with some other orgs?

No, I think its karma that we got to play in UkeSA after the whole CrackClan incident. We did ask for too much as a CoD4 team, but its gamers. Every gamer wants a sallary, who could turn it out. I'm sure having a sallary playing games would help out in real life, especially with all the practice we have to put in.

Do you think asking for sallaries is just wrong for the CoD4 scene? Do you think you will ever get them?

We are now in ButtonBashers so we might do. Maybe if we had won this LAN.

Coming into ButtonBashers, you left SpeedLink first. Talk us through why you decided to leave them in the first place.

SL told us we could attend OOF and TeX and we believe we could place top 3 or above at each. But once we had done quite badly at i-series they changed their mind, and they said it was only worth their time to send us to one event. Saying that we still get on very well with the SpeedLink manager, and they gave us the EPS account back.

When the ButtonBashers tournament came about, everyone was saying you wouldn't get in. TosspoT had publically said he could never support you as a team and he even wrote a clause in the statement that everyone thought was there so they could keep them out. Did you expect to get in after all of that?

No we didn't think TosspoT would let us, but two of our members, nreo and qwerty thought TosspoT was testing us, so L-King spoke to Stuart on irc, and we are very greatful for this.

Will it last longer than 2 weeks?

I want to stay here even if this team doesn't work out just to be part of this organisation. I think Michael and Stuart are amazing to have on your side as managers, and friends.

Do you think you can get your reputation back now after you have lots it with all of the problems you have had?

I think after UKeSA and EPS we are going to be very very keen for boot camp, and prior to the events and we are definitely going to go for the number 1 spot.

Can you reach that number 1 spot? And who are your main opposition in your opinion?

Definitely, fnatic, TBH (if they are not onliners) dignitas, Reason and TCM are the only teams that could challenge us.

Will CoD4 survive after all of the summer events? What about MW2? Will that succeed?

I think it will be dead after TeX if there are no more LANs or EPS's. I think if MW2 can be MODed like the CoD4 MOD then it will be very very big for at least another year?

Have you thought about trying another game?

I tried CS:S but I hate the crosshairs, I want iron sites.
