The teams for the next season of the ESL Pro Series have been confirmed

The process for getting into the EPS Season 3 was the same as last season, with teams having to make their way through the EAS (ESL Amateur Series). This has now finished and the qualifying team for both the Call of Duty 4 and the CounterStrike: Source tournaments have been finalised.

The Call of Duty 4 is more straight forward as there were 4 drop outs in Season 2, so the top 4 teams in the EAS have gone straight through. These 4 teams are:

Vitriolic, Versatile Gaming, Crack Clan and Team infigo

This is how the table for the EPS UK Season 3 is going to look. Of course a lot of things could change especially with CoD4 likely to come to the end of its shelf life as MW2 comes around. However hopefully we will see a full season, especially as there is a lot of prize money up for grabs still (the exact amount if yet to be confirmed).

This is going to make it a really interesting tournament again with some great up and coming talent a well as some of the biggest teams around.

The CounterStrike: Source is a bit more complicated, with only 3 teams dropping out of the season. This means for the top 2 teams in the EAS, they get straight entry. Those two teams are infused and anoxia. The final two slots will be taken by a playoff system. However first here is the list of the 10 confirmed teams that will be playing in the tournament next season:

The final two places will be decided in a playoff between the 9th place team from Season 2, Frustration, and then the 3rd, 4th, and 5th teams from the EAS. They will play in a Double Elimination Best of 3 playoff, with the final two teams (the Grand Final), going through directly to the next season. This is how the playoff tree looks.
