ESEA Open Weeks 8.1 + 8.2
@ ESEA channel

We have finally entered the final week of ESEA's regular season.

With Menion on holiday for a week, I've been thrown into the deep end and been asked to bring you the fixtures and standings for the final week of ESEA.

We still have a lot of games waiting to be played, but the pick of last weeks results has to be DSRack vs. H2k. It was a very tight match with H2k finally running out 21-18 winners after double overtime.

In the second half of the weeks proceedings DSRack were not as fortunate, as they were crushed 16-1 by Reason gaming. Despite this, they still sit in a healthy 4th position, although they have played a few more games than the other teams around them.

Last weeks match of the week was H2k versus MoD, this ended in another defeat for H2k. as MoD won 16-10, with both wantz and gravityyy of MoD playing exceptionally well. This means MoD move up to 5th position in the table, although this could all change as they face up to league leaders ROCCAT on Tuesday.

Elsewhere in the rankings ROCCAT, zOo and Reason gaming all maintained their top 3 status, with H2k coming out of this week as the biggest losers, after 2 defeats they have slipped from 6th position to 9th. On a brighter note, fnatic ended there five game losing streak this week with a closely fought 16-13 win over Alchemists Unleashed. This brings them up to 17th place, just one spot outside the play-offs.

This weeks match of the week is an all Danish affair as MoD are pitted against ROCCAT in a battle of arguably the two best teams in a currently thriving Danish scene.

ROCCAT continue to hold the top spot as they have done for near enough the entirity of the tournament whilst MoD have risen to the dizzying heights of 5th after last weeks results and could jump to 4th or 3rd (depending on other results) should they win their 2 games that remain outstanding from previous weeks.

Both teams are assured of their qualification to the elimination brackets, but I doubt that this will be anything of a dead rubber. ROCCAT have only lost 1 game so far, a 16-13 loss to Reason Gaming, and will be hoping to continue this run and secure themselves the #1 seed berth in the elimination bracket.

MoD on the other hand have had a shakey season so far, as well as losing to Reason Gaming and suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of zOo, they have managed to lose games against lesser sides such as Team Unity and AfterTrouble. As previously mentioned, MoD are assured of their place in the knockout stages of the competition, but will also be keen to try and secure the best possible seed.
