Tonight management of The Community LAN have confirmed that next weekends event is definitely going ahead! Although small, the event has reached the minimum amount of teams required and there will be no more doubts about whether it is still on.

Players will be travelling from across Europe to attend the event held at WZZRD Enschede with top teams including Team Coolermaster, FakkelBrigade, and a YoYo Tech mix believed to be in attendance to compete for a share in the £1500 prize pot.

Community members Moose(Crack Clan & former Cadred writer), Amonsilas(Team Fruit & TheReality LAN TF2 tournament admin), Dunc(Team Coolermaster & TF2UK.Org), and Exfane(FakkelBrigade member) have worked hard to bring TF2 another LAN event and the community have been keen to make it a success, with Team Dignitas and Crack Clan also considering attendance.

Amonsilas announced the news on the TCL website:

After a week of intense discussions, loads of conversations, several negotiations with the venue and a lot of ups and downs we are hereby confirming that The Community LAN ‘09 has received the green light and will definitely take place. This is 100% sure, there are no more doubts.

At this point in time we have 10 teams confirmed and paid (although a few teams need 1 more player to pay - sort that out ASAP!). The venue and the organization agreed that although the size of the tournaments has to be decreased, there are still so many reasons to do this event - and thus we will!
