The final game of the CoD4 tournament, between Team Dignitas and Team CoolerMaster

In a direct copy of the UKeSA Grand final, Team Dignitas were up against Team CoolerMaster. The game, live on the stage, went all the way, (again). But in the end TCM were able to come back after getting destroyed on District to clinch a great victory.

Like usually I have the match as it happened below.

As it happened

The first map was District, and Team Dignitas started off on attack after winning the knife round. The commentators were saying TCM needed at least 7 rounds, but dignitas weren't ever going to allow this.

TCM were not playing very well, being very undisciplined. They were hitting the first frags, especially robyYE with his sniper, but the rest of the team were just not staying in when they got the man advantage. They poked their heads out, and dignitas were able to clutch the rounds.

Mark and Mick were both on form, and it sums up dignitas's performance; SoCLoN got 1 frag all half, yet they still won it 8-4!

It also didn't take long for dignitas to get the final few rounds. In a nade fuelled game, dignitas were able to stop TCM from getting many more rounds on the board. And again it did summarise the TCM performance, as they had the bomb down with a 2 man advantage, but mark was able to clutch it against vasquez finally, to win the map 13-6.

The second map

Strike was the next map, and it was suddenly as if TCM had found the 3rd gear. They sprinted through to an early 3 round lead, and they had started to get a bit of spirit in them.

But mark decided enough was enough. Armed with his SMG mark charged into the TCM lines and single handidly won dignitas 2 rounds to only 1 reply from TCM. But TCM were able to constantly able to get into bomb site A and usually get the bomb down. This is a different TCM to the one that played on CityStreets.

TCM keep doing well, as they make it up to a 7-2 lead. This is the perfect attack for TCM. They are doing what dignitas did to them on CityStreets, rolling them! But finally in the 11th round dignitas were able to pull it back after losing men early, and then get the final one. This half was definitely a "one man show" for dignitas, with only mark really pulling his weight for dignitas. Half time score, 8-4 to TCM.

The second half starts equally, with both teams exchanging rounds. But dignitas suddenly look a lot better. Again their ability to clutch stands out. raz almost clutches a great 3on1 but twist is there to keep TCM 4 rounds ahead, at 10-6.

The SMGers for TCM are on fire, ripping through the dignitas attack. Phantasy especially is just roaming the map and able to pick them off with ease. It's map point TCM. Could this be exactly the same score dignitas got against them on CityStreets? Not this round, but the next round does go their way. TCM have won the second map, 13-7.

The third map

Backlot is the third map, the "small SMG" map. This is going to be a close decider. The game starts off with dignitas going strong. They are able to hold out the rushes from TCM. Again they relied on raz to keep them in the game. No matter what the deficit, dignitas seem to be able to clutch. This is really wierd this game. Dignitas own on Citystreets. TCM own on Strike. Dignitas come back on Backlot and are looking very strong.

But if you thought dignitas were going to run away with it you were wrong. TCM manage to pull back the score to make it 5 all. Germaine and Phantasy are looking strong. This is definitely going to be a close game.

They then take the lead for the first time in the map! They are looking strong, very strong. They take the first half 7-5 after pulling a lot of rounds back.

We are about to start the final half of the game! TCM have the lead, and just need 6 rounds. dignitas need to hit 8 rounds. This is going to be close. The first round saw TCM getting the first few kills, but soon it was a 1on1 with Mick up against Germaine. But Germaine came out on top. TCM have the lead they need. They are only 4 rounds away.

mark is not on fire like he was in the first and second map. TCM are walking away with the win, and are now 3 rounds away from glory. TCM had a chance to close this game out, but raz in true "machine" style said no, and again clutched brilliantly.

But in the next round it was Germaine to clutch, and clinch the round right under the prowling eyes of Danny. They are 2 rounds away from victory. Germaine makes that 1 round away as he hits the 26 bomb! TCM are about to win their second event in a row. But the brothers say no!

"TCM were so close, but raz totally saved dignitas's bacon". He had a 3on1 to get, and he did just that. He is definitely a machine. dignitas have 4 rounds to get. Its a 3on1, with only Mick alive. TCM do it! they have won!
