The German scene is generally known as being one of the most stable and professional in Europe. At the moment however there are lots of teams disappointed with their showing in the important German EPS competition and they are making wholesale changes. The latest CS:S team to do so is that belonging to EnRo Griffins.
After finishing eleventh overall in the EPS league they have decided to bolster their squad, making it one of the largest that will feature in the competition if it remains unchanged. They have kept three from the original line-up and brought in an additional four players. This "squad system" approach seems to be borne of frustration at losing some players at key points of the previous season.
As the team manager, Michael 'ganni' Dyck, explained:
After last season with lots of accidents we've lost some players and for the next 15 EPS Season we had to be sure to avoid relegation and we did clearly avoid relegation. Now we have confidence in a second season with the players el3m3nt and ninj0 Tomo. Together with mix1 and jaro they are all hungry for success with experienced players like fl4x and EAN who are old foxes who knows everything in CS: S scene. With this mix of players we want to return with the old strength and class. We can end up in the top and with a great effort, team spirit and training, this is certainly possible. I hope there will be a clean and fair 15 Season and I look forward to new developments.
