ESEA Semi-Finals
@ ESEA channel

Its been a long, default ridden road to get here but tonight we finally reach the semi-final stage of this seasons ESEA playoffs.

4 teams remain each needing only 2 more wins to claim this seasons title. Tonight the games will take place at 9PM GMT on de_inferno and with the knockouts being the best of one map format there really is no room for error as each and every mistake could prove fatal to a teams chances of progressing. If you haven't been following the event the previous league standings, playoff brackets and previews can be found HERE

In the first of the semi-finals we see Kings of Europe Reason Gaming take on one of the two Swedish sides still left in the competition 30-P Gaming.

Many believe if it wasn't for a default win over one of the tournament favourites DSRack in the 1st round of the playoffs 30P might not have reached this stage of the competition. Having lost 16-4 to them earlier on in the league stages previously (albeit with the orgs previous css lineup) its unlikely they would have found themselves in the quarter-finals let alone the semis, but my god did their new and improved lineup make the most of the opportunity presented to them. They took on another Danish giant fnatic in their quarter final encounter and in a thrilling battle came out on top in overtime 21-19 putting on one one hell of a show and more than justifying their presence in this stage of the tournament. As impressive a performance as it was however I fear with their semi-final against Reason Gaming they have bitten off more than they can chew. League winners Reason have been on fine form losing only two games throughout the entire ESEA season (their first fixture of the season to diamondZ 16-14 and a surprise loss to TLR 16-12) and I expect them to come out on top tonight with a fairly comfortable win.

In the second of the semi-finals we see French side Dreamaker take on the other Swedish side left in the competition H2k.

French side Dreamaker have seemingly come from nowhere and now after beating 2 of the tournament favourites diamondZ and MoD in the previous rounds of playoffs find themselves genuine contenders to win. Early on in the competition they found themselves with defeats at the hands to some of the weaker teams in the competition but recently certain players appear to have stepped it up a notch particularly akamatt who dropped 23 T side on nuke against MoD. Yet playing for Redline at OOF he looked nothing short of a shadow of his recent online self. Controversy aside lets move on and talk a a little about a H2k side who seem to find themselves coming up just short against the big teams this season. Having taken 13 rounds from league winners Reason, 11 from diamondZ and losing in overtime to DSRack 21-18 H2k will hope their recent quarter final win over AIMAZING shows changing fortunes. However with this event being online I expect Dreamaker to probably come out firing on all cylinders and take a place in the final.
