ESEA Finals
@ ESEA channel

The long story of the European ESEA Open League has finally reached the end, with the grand final and the 3rd place match to be played tonight.

The two matches will be played simultaneously at 19.00 UK/20.00 European time and both will be played with the best-of-three format, with teams choosing their maps out of the map pool (which includes de_inferno, de_dust2, de_nuke, de_train).

The total amount of prize-money is £1500 (approximatively €1750): the winners take home £750, with runners-up earning £500 and £250 going to the winners of the 3rd place playoff.

Here is the coverage channel of the league for those of you who want to know more about the previous stages of the competition.

Now let's take a look at the 3rd place match between Reason Gaming and Dreamaker.

How many of you would have expected a loss of Reason against the Swedish 30P-Gaming? Probably no one, but now Reason have to win if they want to take something back from this league, after three months of matches.

However, with just few days left for one of the biggest event that the competitive scene of Counter-Strike: Source has ever seen, The eXperience 09, surely the team doesn't want to show its tactics to the whole continent, therefore it is unlikely that Reason will play to their best.

On the other hand, the French team has absolutely nothing to lose: as JaMbi wrote about the semi-finals, they have seemingly come from nowhere, reaching almost the final, having beat on their way teams such as diamondZ and MoD. However now this is the last chance to take home some money for them, so I'm sure they will do their best to win and get the 3rd place.

And now the grand final, a derby between the two best Swedish team in the competition, 30P-Gaming and H2k Gaming.

30P-Gaming is another team which will attend The eXperience, so they could choose to play not with their best strats, even though they're not one of the favourite teams for the victory and in fact there are more chances for them to win £750 tonight than earning something in Denmark.

They had an harder route for the final compared to H2k's one, as they beat fnatic at the overtime (21-19) and Reason Gaming in the semifinal, while H2k faced AIMAZING.be and Dreamaker.
Both teams had lot of changes in their lineup recently, with players switching from one side to the other like major, cem, Friberg and VINK, therefore the rivalry between the two teams is high.

Before the birth of the new Vitriolic team this match would have established who was the best team in Sweden, now we will "only" know who will be finally crowned champions of the European ESEA Open League.
