Tom has been writing about eSports in some shape or form for over 2 years now, and has recently become the Coverage Manager at Cadred.
Having previously been the Editor-in-Chief of ClanBase, he has a lot of experience with online and offline journalism. Now he is focusing his attention on the CoD scene.
He is renowned for his full and detailed interviews, as well as the time and effort he puts into all of his articles.
"This month has been a really wierd month. In my opinion it should be exactly the same as last month, purely because there haven't been any big officials. The only major competition was i37, where fnatic came out on top of TCM, and TCM were stronger than dignitas (keeping the same order as last month).
However, there have been a few changes, with mTw coming back into the top 10. I am not sure how this came about, but they are now in at 10th.
The next few months are going to be hard for the scene, but we will keep the top 10 going, with FoM and the start of some online leagues to base it on next month.
"
Stuart has been a Director of QuadV, the online video broadcasting company, since it formed in early 2007, and recently became the Director of eSports for Heaven Media.
As the man behind Crossfire.nu, and the Crossfire Challenge events, Stuart has had more than his fair shair of involvement in the Call of Duty community, and has, in his own words, "shoutcasted more CoD LAN's than Jesus gets mentions in the bible".
"For me the top 10 was exactly the same as last month, as there has been less esports activity over the last month in the CoD4 scene than in a typical day at a swine flu-infested hospital. This is most likely the end of CoD4, but we will wait and see if things pick up again."
Jetset, a 22 year old Dutch student currently in his final year of his bachelor studies, has been part of one of the biggest CoD portals since early 2005.
As the current director of content for Tek-9, he has put hours of time and effort into the CoD scene, giving it the attention it needed.
As one of the most highly respected journalists in the CoD scene, he certainly knows who the top teams are.
"Despite one of the biggest events of the year taking place mid August (Multiplay i37), not an awful lot has happened in the past month. With no major online competitions taking place and most teams going inactive, awaiting the release of CoD:MW2, there are no real changes in my list this month compared to July. The only change I’ve made is dropping eSuba two spots after losing two longtime members a week ago"
Davide "davjie" Spolaore
Davjie is a 28 year old Italian who got involved in the CoD Community only when CoD4 was released. He decided that he wanted to help the community and joined the ranks of ClanBase as a supervisor.
After almost a year of experience as an admin, the well known Infused organisation asked him to run their big CoD4 cups and in the meantime he also left ClanBase to join the ESL Crew and became Head Admin of the renowed Cod4.invite irc channel where he gets to talk everyday with all the "Big Boys" of the scene.
"fnatic are still in 1st place because after getting 2nd and 1st at oof3 and TeX they got another 1st place at the only event we've had this month, i37. TCM and dignitas still are 2nd and 3rd in my list, thought it's not clear if the teams are going to stick togheter or are already folded. The same problem is happening for Reason Gaming and eSuba, respectively 4th and 5th, with Reason changing at least 2 players and eSuba in search of their fifth member. I've decided for moO_se as my 6th place because even if they left insidiae and replaced VissEh for their old team mate fAEkE I think they're worth this position more then ButtonBashers that also have some lineup problems and are placed in the 7th place. Last three places are respectively for H2K, TBH and YoYoTech dutch team, which I've put in front of CubeSports after their 5th place at i37 showing they are consistent with their performances on lans."
Leigh "Deman" Smith
Deman is one of the leading Call of Duty 4 broadcasters with QuadV covering the majority of LAN events since it's release. Nevertheless he is still totally clueless when it comes to predicting a winner as has been proven countless times!
When not talking nonsense into a microphone he is usually found with the Kop Faithful following Liverpool FC home and away or losing yet another game of Supreme Commander.
"I have exactly the same Top 10 as last month since nothing ground breaking happened at I37 to make me believe it required a change. Obviously eSuba have dropped a few players but I've no doubt they will be replaced with better and BB are in for no doubt huge changes before or upon the release of the next game.
I'm pretty sure this will be the finally real standings for Call of Duty 4 before it's next instalment."
