WCG09: Controversy Over Alleged Flashbug In k23-wNv Game.
@ World Cyber Games 2009 channel

Controversy flared it's ugly nostrils at WCG this morning in the game between k23 and wNv.

The second map - de_inferno, was tied at 18-18 and deep into overtime, when the Chinese team complained to an admin that k23 had used a flashbug in the taking of A bombsite. The match was paused whilst the admins watched footage of the alleged incident and made a decision.

After an hour of confusion and anger, in which a full-scale war of words had broken out between China and Kazakhstan on hltv.org, the admins informed the teams that there was no infraction.

Further delays followed as an incensed k23 had left the stage for a time, not returning until well after they were declared innocent. wNv went on to win the game 22-20, but k23 took the final map to vindicate themselves and set up a meeting with CMAX.gg in the last eight.
