i38: Power Gaming vs Dignitas Recap
@ i38 Counter Strike: Source channel

It was billed as the all UK final and the hype surrounding the meeting of these 2 teams was immense, the rivalry between the players is intense however almost always friendly. The public expected a cracking match and the players didn't disappoint.

First Half

de_inferno was the setting for the battle and after a drawn out knifing session Dignitas took the early advantage of taking the CT side first. When the gun rounds kicked off Dignitas looked to be brimming with confidence as they shut down a delayed A push from the Power Gaming side, getting off to an early lead is vital in such tense matches and Dignitas settled rapidly as they used the eco rounds to get some frags and confidence. By the time the first buy round came Power attempted to work a split on apartments, PEZ however picked up the early frag and the timed split turned into a complete mess with players pushing in one by one to their deaths. With Dignitas 4-0 up and cruising they picked up the next eco round to take a 5-0 lead. Tom 'beta' Hanna started the war of the minds as he picked out the underperforming James 'WilzOOO' Wilson typing "Nice little lan player wil". It was looking bleak for Power and the heads seemed to go down, a quick fist bashed on the table from the always motivated George 'hudzG' Hoskins changed things however as the team got into their stride picking up 2 rounds in a row, it didn't last long however as Dignitas came back to pick up all but one of the remaining rounds. First half score 12-3.

Second Half

Power Gaming looked to be crashing out of the event and the pistol round was completely vital, something they managed to win thanks to a spectacular nade from their European player 'StingeR'. They went on to win the next eco round as well as an early buy from Dignitas, leaving them on eco for the 4th round. Power took the eco round with no hassle and at 4-0 up hudzG was getting into his stride, screaming after every frag and punching the desk after every round won, team mate Henry 'HenryG' Greer was also adding to the volume as Power were on the ascendancy. James 'WilzOOO' Wilson was now playing well as he consistently picked up vital kills, something also noticed by HudzG as he screamed "You are a LAN player James". Dignitas got their first T round on the board as round 5 came along, a well executed B take let to a 1v2 which HenryG couldn't win even after picking up the first frag. They swiftly picked up another round as Power Gaming went for the deagle buy meaning Power would have to win out to reach the final without overtime. It was then that hudzG let out a huge roar heard around the grandstand of "COME ON GUYS WE CAN DO THIS" to the team. They won the next round leaving Dignitas on eco which they also won, Dignitas now seemed to be struggling as Power Gaming and in particular hudzG hit top form as he locked down the A bombsite round after round. With the score reaching 15-14 to Power Gaming everyone around knew they had done enough to secure the win including the players as they were brimming with confidence, something highlighted by WilzOOO picking up the awp and with it 2 vital early kills, Dignitas were left in a 3v5 situation to secure overtime but HenryG, hudzG and Release combined to make sure that didn't happen.

Final score 16-14 to Power Gaming.

A special mention must be given to George 'hudzG' Hoskins as he grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and pulled his team through it with both his motivational skills and his ingame prowess. Power Gaming progress to the final after one of the most tense matches in I-series history where they will face off to Reason Gaming at 10PM tonight.
