The team now known as Nameless, formerly of VeryGames, were one of the favourites to win the 2009 MAXLAN CS:S tournament. However earlier today rumours had started emanating that they would not be attending the event, with the reasons behind it varying from source to source.
Some versions had simply said it was a matter of economics, the team currently lacking the support of a new organisation. Others suggested it was due to contractual obligations with their former partners at VeryGames. The story had even reached some other European e-sports sites who had stated that they would not be in attendance.
As the waters continued to muddy thanks to hoaxers trying to pass themselves off as either members or representatives of the team, one thing was for certain - no-one was certain at all what was happening, quite possibly the team themselves. After trying to reach them for official comment proved fruitless we were left at a loose end as to whether they would be there or not.
However, after much digging and questioning it seems that the team will actually now be in attendance at the event.
The cynical have already suggested that the whole episode was to try and generate some hype around not only their attendance, but the event itself, while others say their attendance was never in question. Whatever has happened though let's hope that these reports are true and Nameless make it to an event that could have been in danger of being a two-horse race without them.
We will bring you any further updates on the saga as and when we have them.
