EPS DE Finals: A Roundup
@ ESL Pro Series Germany Season 15 channel

The 15th season of the ESL Pro Series Germany has ended tonight, concluding with the Call of Duty 4 finals live on ESL TV.

16 teams began the season back in mid October with €5,000 up for grabs. 15 teams survived the regular season that ended in the last week of November, with Competo being the only casualty of the season.

The finals had to be played online, due to German law regarding 18+ games and the German EPS Finals being played in a public arena meant that it was impossible to have them played offline at the event. However ESL TV were on hand to cover the match less than a week after, with the semi finals being played on the 8th of December and the final and 3rd place playoff being played yesterday.

The semi finals went fairly to plan with both SPEEDLINK and mTw progressing after beating tera and TBH respectively. The final was a thriller, with a huge 5 overtimes in a best of 3 matchup using the mr15 ruleset. The first map was mp_backlot was settled after two mr3 overtimes 15-15, 3-3, 4-2, leaving the score at 22-20 for mTw. The second map was mp_crash, and mTw went close to winning the first prize of €1,250, however SPEEDLINK pulled it back and once more another 2 overtimes were played. SPEEDLINK took the map 15-15, 3-3, 4-0 (22-18) meaning mp_crossfire would be the deciding third map of an already thrilling final. The icing on the cake was another overtime at the end of the decider after another tense 15-15, SPEEDLINK ended the victors, taking the overtime 4-2 and €1,250 in the process.
