IEM: Global Finals Groups
@ ESL Extreme Masters channel

The groups for the Intel Extreme Masters Global Finals have been drawn along with the groups for the final qualifier taking place in Asia.

The finals which are set to take place at CeBit in Hanover, Germany from the 2nd-6th March. Teams from Europe recently competed in a stunning event in Cologne and they will make up most of the teams here. They will also be joined by two teams from the American qualifier with Evil Geniuses and compLexity came out on top.

The last two places will be decided at the Asian qualifiers which take place in Taipei at the beginning of February. The choice of Taipei for the qualifiers is a strange one, as given to the relationship the country has with China there were difficulties getting visa's for the Chinese players and in the end none of the Chinese teams will be attending when the likes of TyLoo would have been among the favourites to secure a spot at the finals, this has left the competition wide open.

The Groups are as follows:

Group A:

DuskBin
UMX Gaming
We Made Fox
XgamerS

Group B:

Edge7
Immunity
Ka4
TitaNs

The winners of each group will play off against the respective second placed teams for a place in the final. Both teams in the final will then get a spot at the global finals in Germany.

Fnatic SK Gaming
Mousesports Roskilde Ravens
oXmoze /A/

Evil Geniuses compLexity

First impressions might suggest Group A to be the tougher of the two but as the European finals proved, these events can be extremely hard to predict. However there is no doubt that more tantalising 1.6 action is going to take place and as ever Cadred will be bringing you full coverage of the event.
