The Gathering, taking place from the 31st March to the 4th April in Vikingskipet in Norway, is looking like it is going to be another good event, and should attract a large number of Source teams.

Today they have announced a large amount of prize money for various different games. Most importantly for the Cadred readers is the massive price purse for Counter Strike.

Unfortunately for those CS:S fans out there, the prize tournament is strictly for the Hellfragger league, with the top four teams advancing to the play off, luckily, Cadred understands that another tournament may be started if enough interested is shown, so really guys, the balls in your court.

The event will also feature Quake live, Tekken 6, FIFA2010, DoTA and finally Trackmania: Nations forever which should catch the interest of top organisations that all have teams in the listed prize games.

The prize distribution for CS 1.6 is as follows;

• 1st 50.000 Nok 5 x DreamHack-tickets (850 SEK, total 4250 SEK) + Wildcard to Main Tournament (Roughly £5,000)
• 2nd 20.000 Nok (Roughly £2000)
• 3rd 10.000 Nok (Roughly £1000)
  

And for CS:S (Hellfragger only)

• 1st 25,000 Nok (Roughly £2500)
• 2nd 12,000 Nok (Roughly £1000)
• 3rd 5000 Nok (Roughly £500)
