We're finally at the end of this long regular season of the European ESEA Invite league, the first eight teams in the standings will qualify for the playoffs stage, where they will try to get some of the $2000 prize pot.

After a good and exciting start, the ESEA has unfortunately suffered the retirements of Dignitas, Fnatic.MSI and Blight Gaming from the league, and the fact that in the last weeks the teams tended to give a lot of default wins did not help: in this last week of the regular season, five matches out of seven have been defaulted.

Looking back at week 7 on the other hand, all matches were played regularly (with the exception of course of the games featuring the three above-mentioned teams): OnlineKingdom lost against Power Gaming, but this loss didn't influence their position in the rankings. Burning took an interesting victory against 30P-Gaming and after the default win versus Power Gaming they reached the fourth position behind Alternate, but they have still to play against VeryGames.

TLR won against H2k-Thermaltake, but their qualification for the playoffs is not sure as it depends all from the result of their match against Reason Gaming. The Eastern European team is at the moment out of the top 8, but with a victory against the British they shouldn't have problems in going to the playoffs. The French team VeryGames is in the same situation, with three victories, two draws and two defeats, but they still have to play against Burning and Reason.
