One of the most virulent rumours circulating around the CS:S scene came to pass this evening when Team Dignitas announced the disbanding of their CS:S team.

The team had a prolonged spell of inactivity and had already dropped out of online competitions such as ESEA with players having other commitments outside of playing.

The team did look to have turned a corner after the removal of James "PEZ" Perrott and the addition of Erik "HaZ" Holm, but the team that had so much potential on paper will now never realise that promise. It isn't clear what the organisation will do now regarding a CS:S team and it could be possible that they no longer wish to have a squad representing them in that particular game.

Although the players were unavailable for comment the team manager, Michael "ODEE" O'Dell made a statement on Team-Dignitas.org.

He said the following:

With immediate effect we unfortunately have to announce that our CS:Source team has disbanded.

The team joined us in August with HaZ as a later addition under the wing of team leader Sam 'RattlesnK' Gawn. But things did not go as the team wanted and due to University, real life and other assorted issues the team has decided to call it a day. We would like to thank them for their efforts during their time with us, we will however continue using some of the players for our consultancy services in other fields.

Team Dignitas will look into all options regarding CS:Source and we will decide what direction we go in regarding the game in the next few weeks.
