Seb “numlocked” Barton parts ways with division one dark horses, what women want, but did he jump or was he pushed?

The more astute amongst you may have had your suspicions aroused on Tuesday last week when Arto “Bash” Alanko was added to what women want’s roster page on ETF2L. Discrete enquiries at the time yielded the official line that he was “just a merc”, but it was clear that trouble was afoot! It became apparent that numlocked’s temperamental internet connection was making him a liability for the team, so Bash had been brought in as a band-aid to cover when numlocked was unfit for duty.

Unfortunately, young Seb Barton has been plagued with similar problems for the duration of his Team Fortress 2 career which has lead to frayed relations in previous teams despite his unquestionable Demoman prowess which has been well demonstrated in LAN performances at UKeSA and i38.

Things seemed to come to a head on Sunday when the team voted to use Bash over numlocked in their upcoming ETF2L Week 2 fixture against Power Gaming citing that they “work better as a unit with him”. This was apparently the straw that broke the camel’s back, as numlocked quit the various rosters and relinquished admin powers to Duncan “dunc” Wraight that very night.

Observers of the scene who have witnessed Duncan’s player management methods in the past may remember that he is often reluctant to kick players, preferring instead to bench them to death. It seems quite probable that Seb saw the writing was on the wall and decided to quit on his own terms rather than endure an existence of trying to prove himself worthy in bench limbo.

Unsurprisingly, Bash will now take up the role of fulltime Demoman for the former Teddybears, reunited once more with his Power Gaming companion Robin “wltrs” Brinkestål. At present it is unknown what numlocked’s plans for the future are, but this reporter hopes he will not turn his back on the world's greatest game, Team Fortress 2!
