The UK organisation Unique E-sports have picked up the Swedish Counter-Strike 1.6 team that were formerly known as Gamers.nu.
This represents the organisation's first move in Counter-Strike territory and they will be hoping that the move can pay off. The team, while maybe not containing some of the biggest names the strong Swedish scene has produced, represents one with a solid track record. It also represents a solid opportunity for the team to make a return to attendance at LAN based competitions, something the team are keen to do.
Team captain Kristoffer "faken" Andersson spoke about the move on the Unique E-sports website:
This team will be competing in the 2010/2011 Circuit, including DreamHack Summer 2010 WCG National Qualifier, ESWC National Qualifier, and National Online Leagues which have been scheduled and set by our team and the organization. This is something that has fell through in the past with Gamers.Nu and myLegend. We are glad to have joined Unique-Esports as we believe they are the next big sensation for the Counter-Strike Community.
Unfortunately for them the team missed the deadline to sign up to the Nordic qualifier and may not be able to compete unless they enter and win the last chance qualifier.
