With a new EPS season coming up the public rosters will always divulge any transfers ahead of schedule. For the last few days the eagle eyed had been circulating that Sam "RattlesnK" Gawn, formerly of Team Dignitas, had joined as a permanent fifth.

Although it seemed likely, given that the team needed a player and in particular an AWPer, there was no official word from the managers on the players. Today that has been rectified when the management confirmed the move on the Power Gaming site.

They said:

After parting ways with Lasse "stingeR" Midtstue a few weeks ago, our Counter-Strike: Source team have been looking for a replacement to fill the 5th spot in our lineup, and now our search has come to an end with the addition of superstar Sam "RattlesnK" Gawn. RattlesnK joins us after previously representing Dignitas, placing 2nd at The eXperience, and was the Franchise Player for Birmingham Salvo when they won $500,000 in the CGS World Finals. Sam's addition gives us not only a dedicated awp'er but also the most accomplished ingame leader in the UK, leaving us with an all-UK roster for the 2010 season. You will be able to see RattlesnK and the rest of our team in action at The Copenhagen Games in Denmark at the start of April.

Sam himself continued:

Considering the wide spread rumours around why dignitas actually folded I’ll just clear that up by saying a number of our players felt they lacked the motivation and desire to continue practicing and competing. I think it mainly boiled down to individuals wanting to focus their attention on different activities away from CS towards different games or life choices which is understandable. Moving on from that I decided the best step for me as a player would involve moving away from my long term home within dignitas and join up with the guys in Power Gaming. At the end of the day I felt rebuilding a team in dignitas for the hundredth time was going to put too much strain on my university commitments and as such by joining up with Power I would move into a stable team with great prospects for the future. I’ve obviously played with Wil and Dan in dignitas before and during CGS I spent time with George and Henry so it hopefully won’t take long for us to gel and hit the expectations we’ve laid down for ourselves.
