You may know XLfrag for it's online tournaments where you frag for money. Today they announced a new tournament with a huge prize-pot including the games CSS and CS 1.6.

XLfrag have today announced a new tournament named FRAGTIME #1 with a prize-pot of €7000 in the games CS:S & CS 1.6. The prize will be divided in 5on5 CS:S, 5on5 1.6, and a CS 1.6 "Aim For Fame" tournament. the sign-ups will take place at 8th – 21st of March and there is no registration fee whatsoever.

The CSS and CS 1.6 5on5 64 team tournament format are with double elimination, so if you lose you are still in it and have a shot at winning the whole thing. The CS 1.6 Aim for fame tournament is a 1on1 tournament restricted for 128 players to battle it out for the number 1 spot. The rules are the same for all the tournaments.

To participate in this you must be +16 years old, have a registered user on their site and download their Pay-Per-Frag client.

Tournaments sign up details as follows:
In order to participate in one of our three tournaments all players need to sign up for an account on XLFrag(signing up is mandatory) and then followed with an e-mail to the lead admin, Misiu Pajor (e-mail: mp(AT)luopent.com) – please use the following email template when sending your e-mail:

Subject: Sign up for CS1.6, CS:S or AIM. (Depending on which tournament you wish to sign up for)

Please note: You need to sign up for your own account via your PC. You may not have your team mates/manager sign you up. Multiple accounts are automatically suspended and you will not be able to participate in our tournaments.

The tournament will take 4 weeks and with significant winnings it's already attracting some of the bigger teams. They have also announced they will host more events like this, something that will be well received given the CS:S calendar at the moment.
