CIC7: Reason thrash fnatic
@ Crossfire Intel Challenge 7 channel

The biggest match of the tournament, with Reason taking on fnatic, finished in Reason's favour

Group F was always going to be a challenging group, with two top teams, Reason and fnatic, both looking to have a strong tournament. Unfortunately they had to play each other in the groups, far too early for our liking.

After many an hour of delays, either with the PCs crashing, or the network lagging out, the game went live live live, on Strike, with Reason taking the attacking side.

They got a great start, winning the first 3 rounds with relative ease. Zenith got it all wrong in a 1on1 clutch that left his side with a big deficit from the word go. However, through a team ace and then a ridiculous clutch from zenith in a hard 1on3, fnatic pulled it back to 4 rounds a piece.

fnatic weren't up to the standard that people expected off them

All of the Reason players were on form, with SoCLoN, or in this game, PhPCLoN, dominating the scope, as well as Lighters being his usual self with his rifle. The latter was really having an important game, with Deman hitting the nail on the head. The "key for fnatic is downing Lighters". Whenever they managed to do that they seemed to win the round with relative ease.

zenith assured that fnatic stayed in touch, taking it to 7-5 in favour of Reason at half time, and getting a massive 18 frags in the first half.

The second half started just like the first half ended, with both teams exchanging rounds left right and centre. fnatic looked like they had a lot of set tactics that they were desperately trying to stick to. However, it seemed when things went wrong they just pushed in on their own. Though Stevy is perfectly capable of going in and killing 3 on his own, it looked like it might be more effective if he actually waited for his team mates at time.

Kyochi on the other hand had other things in mind, and stormed into A and got 4 successive frags to give fnatic the round, and pull them back to just a 1 round deficit.

But that was the last round fnatic were going to get in the whole game, with Reason pushing on and taking the remaining rounds. Though they weren't the quickest and easiest of rounds, Reason have the ability to clutch situations, with a wealth of experience shining through their ranks. SoCLoN was left in a 1on1 in the 21st round, and easily took the shot to secure the victory.

Reason had a great game, and threw my LAN Crumble award out of the window

Reason should avoid dignitas now, and get an easy path through the playoffs. As for Reason, it is quite clear that the possible "LAN Crumble" awards I had predicted for them are not going to happen, at least not for now. They have made it out of the groups, and should have an easy path to the quarter finals.

An interview with one of the Reason players will be coming your way shortly.
