A few months ago the people behind Slap Live announced that their event would be re-named to the Copenhagen Games, as well as letting people know it was moving in a positive direction. They also announced a new prize distrubition but it unfortunately didn't go down well with the community
Copenhagen Games 2010 - which will take place between the 1st-4th of April announced a week ago their new system of prize distribution, following the same trend as The eXperience events have done by paying cash for each upper bracket win. As it turns out that idea didn't go down well with the Danish community, with a lot of complaints from the top players in Denmark. Therefore the organizers decided to have a vote about how the prizes should be divided. Only 30% chose the new system, with the other 70% opting for the more traditional prize payment.
The Prize distribution will now be as follows for CSS and CS 1.6:
1st place: 25.000 DKR / 3,359 Euros
2nd place: 12.000 DKR / 1,620 Euros
3rd place: 7.000 DKR / 940 Euros
4th place: 3.000 DKR / 403 Euros
5th place: 2.000 DKR / 268 Euros
6th place: 1.000 DKR / 134 Euros
The prizepot has not changed, it is still 50.000 DKR / 6,718 Euro for both games, but if the CS 1.6 event doesn't get a lot more teams signed and paid up soon the money will be reduced.
The deadline is the 15th of March, after this date the cost of entering this event will be increased by 50 DKR / 7 Euro.
