ESWC Guarantee Prize Money
@ General coverage channel

Game Solution, the company behind the ESWC, have announced a bank guarantee that will ensure all prizes won at their up coming tournaments will be paid to their respective winners.

Early last year it was announced that Games-Services, the company behind the ESWC would be ceasing operations and closing down. Leaving behind thousands of dollars of unpaid prizes to various organisations and players. Just four months later the brand was purchased by VALOSC, who then re-hired most of the Games-Services employees. It didn't take the company long to announce the return of the ESWC - due to take place in Disneyland in June this year with a mind boggling $200,000 up for grabs.

Due to the fact the current owners Game Solution had nothing to do with the ESWC before it was closed down, they are not obliged to pay off any of it's debts. When this event was announced naturally many organisations and players were dubious about the event, knowing the past problems. It will come as good news then that the total amount of $213,500 has been guaranteed by the bank, and will be paid to the respective winners of the 2010 event. People are even being urged to contact their lawyer firm, the Fidal group, should they wish to receive official certification of the bank guarantee.

How much money the previous owners of the ESWC owe is unclear, but along with the the CPL and Clanbase/GGL they owe $274,000 in unpaid prizes. Although it is unlikely any of that will be paid in future, organisations can take comfort in knowing that the prizes for this ESWC event will be paid.
