As most of you will know already HMV Gamerbase will be hosting a CS:S tournament with both offline and online qualifiers.

There will be various offline local events hosted across the UK this weekend, open to anyone who wishes to attend. The winners of those qualifiers will be heading to Reading on the first of May to compete for the £1250 first prize, with £250 cash to cover their travel to the event. Joining them will be the four best teams from an offline tournament - also open to anyone who fancies their chances.

Originally the online qualifier was set to kick off tonight with the first and second round of matches being played. However to allow more teams to compete and prepare the qualifier has been put back one week. It will now begin on Monday the 19th of April. Anyone who has already played one of their games tonight will receive a seeding next week based on tonight's result, so don't worry - it wasn't a wasted practice. We also bring the news that due to extremely popular demand, teams will be able to participate in both the Offline and Online tournaments.

Expect more announcements to come regarding the event as and when we have them. We will also be bringing you on-site coverage of the qualifiers as well as the final in May, so stay tuned.
