"Looking heavily at ETF2L during March and then the i39 event at the very beginning of April, there are some clear winners at the top of the Division 1 pack.
idk? have performed considerably for the duration, beating dignitas yet again. They've also taken three points from each of the esteemed numbers two and three, TCM and Power Gaming. Despite them not attending i39 at all, it has to be them that are placed first this month.
Dignitas haven't had an excellent month, losing both maps to idk? in ETF2L and losing a map versus Power Gaming. They did however beat TLR comprehensively and managed to take 4 points away from "what women want". I'm definitely placing them second this month though, mostly because of their excellent performance at i39 where they beat Power's main lineup without ever stepping it up a gear, as well as soundly beating the www mix on a map that dignitas have openly admitted to not practicing.
TCM take my third place for March, though I'm not sure how much of a compliment that is. The games this past month have been very strange indeed, possibly due to more of the custom/irregular maps being played in ETF2L and ESL. TCM did beat Power Gaming in ETF2L, taking the full 6 points, but they also lost and drew a map versus underdogs "what women want". I think everyone was sad to see TCM incapable of turning up at i39 for TF2, it's a real shame for an organisation with such excellent LAN history. Hopefully the impending lineup changes will resurrect those opportunities.
According to a ratio of points taken divided by games played, FakkelBrigade should actually be top of the charts this month, but that system isn't quite fair. In ETF2L they've only played against two of the weaker teams, Blight and idk?frog, and managed to lose points against the latter. They did comprehensively beat www in ESL though, and unlike the LAN-dodging idk? boys, they actually turned out to i39, albeit with a medic merc. Fourth place for FB in March, it's a hell of an improvement over not being placed at all - look what activity can do for your reputation, Fisshu!
I'm moving Power Gaming down to 5th this month after losing two maps to TCM in ETF2L, as well as losing a map versus both idk? and dignitas. Their performance at i39 was exceptional, especially considering a rather incapacitated Vallone, but the rest of their results have been somewhat wayward. One wonders whether hymzi's renowned emo might be taking a toll on yet another Power Gaming lineup.
What women want have played some tight games in March but coming into April they've shown nothing other than inactivity and an unsettled lineup. Beating TCM was the highlight of their month, but losing to both dignitas and FakkelBrigade places them sixth in my top 10 for the previous month. Had they managed a draw versus dignitas and a win against FakkelBrigade, I would've been looking to place them second.
The rest of the bunch is much of a muchness. Lineup changes, inactivity and a set of awful results for Blight and idk? Frog mean it's impossible to place them higher than 7th and 8th, while Broder have dropped points against Special Attack. Because Empire have folded, I'm putting the relatively new team rockit, previously known as "notag", in 10th place. They have a solid lineup which could really show some potential in ETF2L D1 next season if they can stay together and play consistently."
Dave is part of Cadred's TF2 team. He concentrates fully on the coverage side of the game, and unfortunately doesn't play the game as much as he would like, but in the past was a top Division 2 player in Team YoYoTech.
According to himself, Dave is a generally awesome player, amazingly attractive and an all-around incredible guy. This certainly qualifies him to be part of our respectable panel.
"March has undoubtedly been a great month for TF2, culminating (albeit in April) with the fantastic i39 Grand Final – the VOD of which can be watched here. All this has an impact on the rankings of the European Top 10, and with a large selection of games to look at it'll be interesting to see where teams come.
With a clear win at the aforementioned i39 Grand Final, my top spot goes to Dignitas this month. They've proven once again that they can take it up a level when they are really committed, but it was a shame that neither TCM or idk? could attend – considering how well both of these teams have been playing recently, it would have been great to test their offline skill over what was a brilliant weekend. It goes without saying that Power remain near the top, but some surprising pcw results suggest they could do with putting down the drink (Vallone) and playing the game a little more.
With www showing themselves more than capable whenever they can put rage aside and actually play properly, and FB proving tricky opponents with their great teamwork throughout i39, the once-exclusive top 4 is expanding and these guys deserve 5th and 6th spot respectively – perhaps throughout April if they can win a few of the many close games they play in, we'll see them jump that bit higher.
Towards the lower end of the table, Broder for me are a team to watch – some excellent pcw results against higher teams suggest they're capable of great things, whilst TLR continue to put in some solid results. Blight and Rockit make up my final Top 10 teams – both can play very well, but with consistency problems stemming from line-up changes for Blight, and perhaps some inexperience for Rockit, they need to practise hard to move up any higher."

"It's been an interesting six weeks since our last Top Ten, and I have no idea what this edition is going to look like. Well, I have some idea. Dignitas, of course, will rightfully be rewarded for another fantastic offline performance.
But we can't forget about the team that took full advantage of their March slump - I Don't Know?
They seem to go from strength to strength, and they're most definitely in the ascendancy. Let's hope they can keep it up.
Beyond those guys, the only team I've been really impressed with is FakkelBrigade. They were unlucky not to finish higher at i39. Regardless, they played well, and had a busy March, too."
Patrick retired from captaining a TF2 team last year, but since then he's only become busier in TF2, taking up positions as an ETF2L admin and a columnist for Cadred.
Patrick is well known for his insightful, irreverent and sometimes subversive esports writing.
"What a difference a LAN makes. After a March they'd like to forget, Dignitas came storming back to take the i39 title. Except they didn't storm, did they? They didn't really break a sweat. Apart from when they met that hotpants girl in the pub.
The other big winners of the month: I Don't Know? for making Dignitas ragequit and sweat in their ETF2L official and FakkelBrigade, who were one good decision away from a potential Grand Finals appearance at i39.
Power Gaming were winners too. Well, sort of. They looked horrible one minute and fantastic the next at LAN. Will the team have learned anything about themselves, and, more importantly, can they translate that into their online game? I hope so, because when they're clicking, they're a joy to watch.
Really looking forward to seeing how the dust settles post-i39 and writing another 30,000 words about TF2!

He formerly captained one of TF2's most legendary teams, Power Gaming. He is currently taking a well deserved break from playing at the top end of the game, but is staying active in the community as the (new version of) Power Gaming team manager.
"I can't remember if I've ever had such a tough time deciding my personal rankings as I did for March. First of all, I couldn't decide whether it was Dignitas or idk who deserved the #1 spot this month. In the end I went with Dignitas again because of their LAN performance. In any case, it's great to see that idk has stepped up their game this much, let's hope they can keep up with this pace.
The places from three to seven were pretty clear in my books, I'd be surprised if others didn't vote these the same way I did. However, from eight to ten things got hard again. The teams outside the top tier simply haven't done enough against the top contenders so there was not much to decide on. I placed broder 8th simply because of their draw against Power Gaming on ESL and idk frog 9th as they tied one map against FB on ETF2L. SpA seems to be doing nicely in both ESL And ETF2L div2, so they´ll get the last point from me."
