SLAP-LAN group stage is now played and it didn't give any surprises. All the major teams advanced from their groups to playoffs. Playoffs will be played with double-elimination brackets.

Next matches will be played at saturday and whole tournament will finish at sunday

I think xpre was a little underdog against dignitas, but the match looked easy for them. I found jIMMy wondering around irc to give me a little interview.

The SLAP-LAN is about to start in Denmark. This year the prize pool for the event looks following:

• 1st Place 20.000 dkk (~2700 euros)
• 2nd Place 10.000 dkk (~1340 euros)
• 3rd place 5.000 dkk (~670 euros)

The SLAP-LAN is now finally over. After some troubles with the servers at the beginning, everything went smoothly to end. The final standings from the SLAP are:

After losing to n!faculty yesterday night, Adastra came back and took the third place from GIAL. Still the players are not happy with their third spot:"We should have met n!faculty in the finals. That would have been good match.", says Fifflaren from adastra. The game overall would have been nice to watch. Specially the come back made by adastra on de_nuke (13-16) was brilliant. In de_train (16-6) adastra just couldn't break the defence of the n!faculty and de_cpl_mill ended also tightly 16-13 for n!faculty.

No one expected GIAL to come up to fourth place. Specially when there was MoD and Team Logitech.fi standing on their way. The road was hard, but GIAL really was the only black horse on this tournament. Beating down two top teams of Europe and only losing to adastra in the consolation final was a show of potential from this young team. lokke from GIAL is here to clear the mist around GIAL and reveal the players and the secrets behind them.

The Group matches has been finished at the Denmark. Teams are ready to go live at the brackets. 12 clans made through from the second group phase. Winners from the groups gets automatical bye and those who came second and third are playing for the spot. The brackets are set as single-elimination. So, there won't be any room for mistakes. Brackets looks following:
