Many grenade lineups require players to jump before throwing their utility. The issue with this is that if the grenade is released even a fraction of a second too early or late then it can land in the wrong location. In order to consistently throw grenades while jumping a jump throw bind is required. Simply set this bind to an easily accessible key, pull out a grenade and press the button for perfect throws every time.
The jump throw bind is easy to implement, just simply copy and paste the below script into your console. Alternatively, if you don’t want to have to enter these into the console every time you play the game, you can enter these into your config instead.
alias “+jumpthrow” “+jump;-attack”; alias “-jumpthrow” “-jump”; bind “v” “+jumpthrow”
HOW IT WORKS
The jump throw bind only works if a grenade is pulled back and held ready to throw when the bind button is pressed. It functions by creating an alias which facilitates two commands to be run simultaneously. The first command within the new alias causes the player to jump, while the second makes your player stop attacking and therefore release the grenade. The next part of the script contains a reversal of the first alias, this enables players to be able to jump after the command has been used. The final component of the script binds a key to the original alias.
IS IT LEGAL?
Yes, in the majority of instances it is perfectly legal to use a jump throw bind for grenades. This is the case in matchmaking, FACEIT, and ESEA too. Additionally, it is also perfectly fine to use these binds in professional tournaments too. So by all means go ahead and test out those grenade lineups you’ve been keen to practice!
